Piano storage

Your piano is insured from collection to return

Cover runs the whole way through, from the day we collect to the day we bring it back.

Book storage

End to end

Insured for the whole journey, not just the store

It is easy to think of insurance as something that covers a piano only while it sits in the warehouse. The risk is rarely greatest there. A piano is most exposed when it is being lifted, carried and moved, so our cover runs through every stage. Your instrument is insured from the moment we collect it, throughout its time in climate-controlled storage, and on the day we re-deliver it.

There is no gap to worry about and nothing for you to arrange in between. One service collects, stores and returns your piano, and one continuous cover sits behind all of it.

  • Insured at collection, in storage and on re-delivery
  • No gap between the moving stages and the storage stage
  • One service and one continuous cover, nothing for you to stitch together
  • Handled by specialist piano crews who know what they are carrying

What it means

What being insured means in practice

In plain terms, being fully insured means that if something happens to your piano while it is in our care, it is protected rather than left as your problem. Cover sits behind the whole service so that the responsibility for the instrument stays with us while we are handling and holding it.

We keep this honest. Every policy has its own terms, limits and conditions, and we would rather walk you through exactly what applies to your instrument than make a sweeping promise on a web page. If insurance is part of why you are choosing storage, ask us before you book and we will explain the cover clearly for your situation.

  • Responsibility for the instrument sits with us while it is in our care
  • Cover stands behind collection, storage and re-delivery
  • Real terms and limits explained honestly, not glossed over
  • Specific questions answered before you book, not after

Declared value

Telling us what your piano is worth

A piano can be worth anything from a sentimental few hundred pounds to a serious sum for a fine grand. So that cover reflects your actual instrument, it helps to declare its value when you book. A realistic figure means the protection matches what is at stake rather than a generic assumption.

If you are not sure what your piano is worth, tell us the make, model and rough age and we can point you in the right direction. For a high-value or rare instrument it is worth getting a current valuation, and we are happy to talk through how to handle the paperwork before collection day.

Records and contact

Documented, and someone to call

Everything is kept on record. Your booking captures the instrument, its declared value and the dates it is in our care, and it is logged against your piano in the facility from the day it arrives. If you ever need to refer back to any of it, the detail is there.

If you have a question about cover, or anything happens that you need to raise, you talk to the same Pianospeed Group team that arranged the storage. There is a real phone number and a real inbox behind the service, not a faceless portal, so you always know who to contact.

Questions

Is my piano insured while it is in storage?

Yes. Your instrument is fully insured throughout, from the moment we collect it, through its time in climate-controlled storage, to the day we re-deliver it. There is no gap between the moving stages and the storage stage for you to worry about.

Does the cover include collection and re-delivery, or just storage?

All of it. A piano is most exposed when it is being lifted and carried, so cover runs through collection, storage and re-delivery as one continuous service. There is nothing for you to arrange separately in between.

What does being fully insured actually mean?

It means responsibility for the instrument stays with us while it is in our care, with cover standing behind the whole service. Every policy has its own terms and limits, so we would rather explain exactly what applies to your piano than make a sweeping promise.

Do I need to tell you what my piano is worth?

It helps. Declaring a realistic value at booking means cover reflects your actual instrument rather than a generic assumption. If you are unsure, tell us the make, model and age and we can guide you. A current valuation is worth it for high-value pianos.

Is anything documented?

Yes. Your booking records the instrument, its declared value and the dates it is in our care, and it is logged against your piano in the facility from the day it arrives. The detail is kept on file for the whole time we hold it.

Who do I contact about insurance or a concern?

The same Pianospeed Group team that arranged your storage. There is a real phone number and a real inbox behind the service, so you always have a clear point of contact if you have a question about cover or need to raise anything.
