Piano storage

Inside our piano storage facility

Clean, dry, climate-controlled and watched around the clock, with every instrument logged against its booking.

Book storage

The room itself

Clean, dry and climate-controlled

The space your piano goes into is purpose-kept for instruments, not a shared corner of a general warehouse. It is clean and dry, and the temperature and humidity are actively managed and held steady all year. That stability is the foundation of everything else, because a stable room is what keeps the wood, the tuning and the finish in the condition they arrived in.

Conditions are monitored rather than set and forgotten, so the environment stays inside the range a piano needs through summer and winter alike. This is the part a garage or a general self-store unit cannot match, and it is the main reason owners choose a specialist store for an instrument they care about.

  • Clean, dry space kept for instruments, not shared general goods
  • Temperature and humidity actively managed and held steady year round
  • Conditions monitored through every season
  • Built around what a piano needs rather than just keeping boxes dry

Security

Watched around the clock

Handing over a valuable instrument means trusting where it sleeps at night, so the facility is secured and monitored around the clock. Access is controlled, the building is alarmed and watched, and your piano sits behind more than one layer of protection from the moment it arrives.

Nothing is left to chance on who can reach the stored instruments. The store is staffed and managed by the same Pianospeed Group team that collects and re-delivers, so the people responsible for your piano in transit are the people responsible for it on site.

  • Monitored security around the clock, every day of the year
  • Controlled, restricted access to the storage areas
  • Alarmed and watched building
  • Managed by the same team that collects and re-delivers

How pianos are kept

Off the ground, spaced and protected

Inside the store, no piano sits on a cold floor and no piano is stacked against another. Every instrument is kept up off the ground and properly spaced, so air can circulate around each one and nothing leans on anything else. Uprights are stored upright, grands are stored flat on padded boards with their legs bagged and crated alongside.

The building is kept pest-controlled and fire precautions are in place, because a clean, dry, well-managed room is the easiest kind to keep free of the things that damage timber and felt. The aim is a calm, stable environment where a piano can sit untouched for as long as you need it to.

  • Instruments raised off the ground, never on a bare floor
  • Each piano spaced so air moves around it, never stacked
  • Pest-controlled throughout
  • Fire precautions in place across the facility

Tracking

Logged and accountable from day one

Every instrument is logged and tracked against your booking from the moment it comes in. We record what the piano is, when it arrived, where it sits in the building and which booking it belongs to, so there is never any doubt about whose piano is whose or where yours is.

That record matters for institutions and executors who need things accountable, and it matters for private owners too. When you book a re-delivery, we already know exactly which instrument is yours and how it was protected, so it goes back out the same way it came in.

Questions

What kind of building is my piano stored in?

A clean, dry, climate-controlled facility kept for instruments rather than shared general goods. Temperature and humidity are actively managed and held steady all year and monitored through every season, which is what keeps a piano stable in store.

How secure is the storage facility?

It is secured and monitored around the clock, with controlled access and an alarmed, watched building. It is managed by the same Pianospeed Group team that collects and re-delivers, so the people responsible for your piano in transit are responsible for it on site.

How are the pianos arranged inside?

Every instrument is kept off the ground and properly spaced so air can move around it, never stacked against another piano. Uprights are stored upright and grands are stored flat on padded boards with their legs bagged and crated alongside.

Is the facility pest-controlled and protected against fire?

Yes. The building is kept pest-controlled throughout and has fire precautions in place. A clean, dry, well-managed room is the easiest kind to keep free of the things that damage timber and felt.

How do you keep track of my piano while it is stored?

Every instrument is logged against your booking from the moment it arrives, including what it is, when it came in and where it sits in the building. When you book a re-delivery, we know exactly which piano is yours and how it was protected.

Can I store other instruments and equipment in the same facility?

Yes. As well as pianos, the facility takes digital pianos, keyboards, organs and other music equipment, all stored under the same clean, dry, climate-controlled and monitored conditions, so a whole music room can be kept together.
